Left Coast Chamber Ensemble is proud to be a grantee of a California Humanities for All Quick Grant for our upcoming project titled: “Music and the Language of Storytelling: A Paiute Storytelling Path to Traditional Ecological Wisdom: For Parents/Grandparents, Elementary & Science Teachers”
About the project:
Left Coast Chamber Ensemble and the Peralta Hacienda Historical Park will present two days of public workshops and performances on language and music in the art of storytelling inspired by stories from the Paiute. By exploring the Paiute language and stories with a native Paiute language specialist, a humanities specialist and storyteller, and a musician, we hope to connect Californians of diverse backgrounds in a common appreciation of the importance of local cultures and the humanities as a way of coming together to understand the issues that face all of us who are living on the land today. Programming will run from September through October 2023.
This project was made possible with support from California Humanities, a non-profit partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Visit www.calhum.org.
